Job Description:
Essential Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Patient Care Excellence
- Serve as a clinical leader, supporting the development of nursing staff through the application of current evidence-based practices that promote safe, cost-effective, and high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate a holistic nursing approach into comprehensive patient and family-centered care plans.
- Identify and prioritize nursing care needs for a specialized patient population and provide expert guidance on complex clinical issues.
- Develop and implement care conferences and specialized programs designed to improve patient outcomes and enhance the patient experience.
Education & Professional Development
- Design, implement, and evaluate innovative educational programs for patients, families, community members, and healthcare professionals.
- Partner with nurse specialists, unit-based educators, and nursing leadership to develop orientation programs, clinical competencies, and educational initiatives.
- Mentor nurses in the acquisition of new clinical skills, the integration of evidence into practice, and ongoing professional and career development.
Evidence-Based Practice & Quality Improvement
- Create, revise, and maintain nursing policies, protocols, and procedures utilizing the latest evidence-based research.
- Develop nurse-sensitive indicators and quality initiatives aimed at achieving positive clinical outcomes and advancing nursing excellence.
- Participate in the evaluation, selection, implementation, and assessment of clinical products and equipment.
Research & Scholarly Contributions
- Collaborate with nursing colleagues and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals to conduct research and contribute to scholarly publications.
- Represent Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center at local and national professional forums and conferences.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing required.
- Current Registered Nurse license required.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.
- 3-5 years of related nursing experience required.
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five years of successful nursing experience, including two years in a specialty area.
- Current Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) Certification.
- Current Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) license to practice in Massachusetts.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.

Employees in this role must be competent to provide care for the following patient populations:
- Neonatal: Birth to 6 months
- Young Adult: 16-30 years

Physical Requirements
This position requires medium physical work, including:
- Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
- Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently.

Pay Range:
$50,307.00 USD – $130,004.40 USD
The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
