Beth Israel Deaconess Milton (CPA) is seeking full-time, Orthopedic Surgical Physician Assistant (PA). The Orthopedic Physician Assistant will be a clinical provider and team member for the treatment and management of the orthopedic surgical patients in the pre, peri and post-operative setting primarily covering patients of the CPA Orthopedic Physicians. Responsible for the initial assessment and admission of patients; to assist in the evaluation and preparation of patients for surgery, to act as first/second assistant in the OR and to care for patients following surgery.

This is a full-time, 40-45 hours per week position (Monday through Friday), 5 shifts varying in duration from 5-12 hours in duration. Day to day hours will be flexible depending on clinical needs of the practice. Salary will be based on years of experience as a PA.

Required Qualifications:
* BS/BA degree and a graduate of a Physician Assistant Program.
* Current License in good standing by the MA Board of Physician Assistant.
* 0 – 1 years of related work experience required.
* Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Preferred Qualifications:
Three to five years experience in a clinical environment.

The Physician Assistant provides direct patient care and works closely with faculty, fellows, residents and nursing staff to develop and coordinate a plan of care to meet the needs of the patient and their families.

1. Performs history and physical examinations, formulation of care plans, ordering and interpreting laboratory and diagnostic tests and provides education to patients and their families.

2. Coordinates the care of patients in order to provide safe, effective, efficient and timely patient centered care. Liaises between visiting nurses, clinical staff and consult services. Care plans and execution of those plans should encompass the entire service to tie the service together. Consults with physicians or surgeons regarding the care of patients for more complex diagnosis.

3. Acts as an educator and serves as a clinical resource for staff through consultation formal and informal education, review of literature and participation in seminars and conferences.

4. Document clinical encounters clearly, precisely and in a timely manner.

5. Works in a collaborative relationship with other health professional to determine health needs of patients and families. Demonstrates and role models an interdisciplinary collaborate approach to patient care.

 

 

Pay Range:

$142,896.00 USD – $194,334.40 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
