Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

As part of the Radiology team, the Radiology Aide:

1. Assesses waiting room status regularly, liaisons with patients to ensure comfort and wait-time satisfaction. 

2. Serves as a resource person by providing appropriate information and assistance to patients, families and visitors to improve their overall experience in the imaging department(s.)

3. Greets, transports and/or escorts, educates and identifies patients making the patients feel welcomed and comfortable and fulfilling all safety and quality checks.

4. Assists the technologists in preparing the patient for an exam, including but not limited to assisting in lifting and moving patients.

5. Provide ambulatory assistance to patients as necessary.

6. Has access to and may transport medication to support the department.

7. Keeps department clean, free of obstacles and stocked in adequate supplies and linen.

8. Handles various imaging-related documentation including but not limited to labels, requisitions, orders, daily reports, logs, and PACS as required by site.

9. Performs other administrative functions as needed to ensure the department runs smoothly, efficiently and seamlessly to the patients.

10. Registers patients for imaging exams (off site locations).

Required Qualifications:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors and fellow members of the hospital team.

3. On-call:  May be required to wear a beeper while at work

4. Schedule requirements:  Required to regularly rotate through day, evening, weekend and holiday shifts as necessary 

5. Travel requirements: May be scheduled at any of the imaging locations/departments

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Students enrolled in an accredited imaging program

2.  Prior in healthcare, a clerical role and/or other positions with a strong customer service element 

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS/CONDITIONS

1.The employee needs to have the physical and mental abilities to perform the duties of the position listed above using the WE CARE behaviors.

2. At a minimum the employee needs to be able to lift up to about 25 pounds, stand, walk, push, pull, and reach.

3. It is anticipated that the employee will have contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials while performing their job duties.

4. Requires working in area where there is exposure to radiation.

 

 

Pay Range:

$17.00 – $22.88

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
