Job Description:

Student Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides the most basic care under the direction of registered nursing staff. Assisting with activities of daily living and providing exceptional patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Admission/Transfer/Discharge Functions. Ready patient rooms, greet and escort patient to their room, inventory possessions, assist with packing personal possessions.
  • Food Service Functions. Prepare patients for meals, serve food trays and snacks, record food/fluid intake, keep water pitchers filled, assist with after meal care.
  • Personnel Functions. Perform all tasks in accordance with policies/procedures, report all complaints/grievances made by the patient.
  • Personal Nursing Care Functions. Assist/provide patients with oral hygiene, bath functions, dressing/undressing, bowel/bladder functions, transporting, vital signs.
  • Provide all functions as delegated by Registered Nursing Staff.
  • Ensure patient room is ready for expected admission, i.e., name tags, admission kit, etc.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Must be a current high school student enrolled in vocational or CO-OP program
  •   Written and verbal English skills at 12th grade level.
  •   Ability to perform statistical analysis

Registration/Certification:

  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification

Physical/Environmental Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.

 

 

Pay Range:

$19.03 – $30.95

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
