Shift: 40 hours/week – Days

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervises the daily operations of the Transport Department. Assigns workloads and addresses outstanding issues. Works with department Directors and staff to resolve transport related issues.

  • Assists in the development and maintenances of policies/procedures/competencies for the department.

  • Schedules staff and maintains adequate coverage for department

  • Supervises training and orientation process of all new staff members. Performs staff evaluations, and provide corrective action plans. Work with HR in the screening/hiring potential candidates.

  • Recommends potential cost saving initiatives related to supply and equipment. Assists in enforcing and monitoring department budget.

  • Supervises Transport Team to ensure daily Quality Assurance is performed on appropriate equipment and supplies. Ensures that equipment is clean and meets standards set in various equipment maintenance policies and as directed by Infection Control.

  • Works with nursing management and staff to ensure daily quality checks are done on precaution carts and equipment.

  • Participates on various committees and teams as required. (Currently, Infection Control Committee)

  • Maintains Equipment Management Module for scheduling equipment repairs and reporting monthly reports to Infection Control Committee.

  • Manages patient related rental equipment. Contact vendors to arrange short-term rental of medical equipment for specific patients, forwarding information for patient charging to Information Service.

  • Delegates tasks appropriately; brings environmental concerns to the attention of appropriate personnel.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Required Skills: Demonstrated maturity and leadership skills; Computer Skills

Required Licenses: CNA or Equivalent experience required; BCLS mandatory; CPI training.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a healthcare/patient setting.
  • Prior experience in switchboard or dispatch.
  • Management experience

Physical Demands
Provide direct care to patients, including lifting, moving and assisting. Regular standing, bending walking and lifting.

Work Environment
Potentially exposed to both biological and chemical hazards. Proper use of personal protective equipment is required.

Pay Range:

$23.00 – $30.95

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.  Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
