Registered Nurse - IV TherapyJob Description:
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse for IV Therapy performs primary functions in assessment, planning, implementing and evaluating the care of patients receiving any form of IV Therapy. Patients served include the days-old infant to and including the elderly. Is responsible for meeting established standards of Nursing Practice and for managing supplies & equipment in the delivery of IV Therapy. Is responsible for development and promoting collaborative & collegial relationships with physicians & intra-hospital personnel as they relate to the care of the patient receiving Intravenous Therapy.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. One year medical/surgical experience required. Previous IV Therapy Team experience preferred. Excellent IV placement skills and management of central lines required. PICC placement preferred. Peripheral lab drawing preferred. Current Massachusetts RN licensure. BCLS Required
