Job Description:

The Sterile Processing Manager maintains 24 hour accountability for the clinical and management functions, as well as monitoring and evaluation activities pertinent of the staff.  The  Manager is responsible for maintaining established standards, managing and coordinating the services provided by staff.  The  Manager is responsible to  maintain ongoing collaborative and collegial relationships with Medical Staff, clinical and support departments.  The Manager demonstrates clinical skill and competence and educates staff on evidence based practice and current standards related to AAMI and  ANSI standards.  The manager is responsible for maintaining monthly budgets as well as anticipating the capital equipment needs for the department managed.  Also, is the Educator for SPD at all 3 campuses. Provides training, maintains staff competencies  and education to SPD staff. Works closely with Clinical Practice Specialists to develop programs and training.

Experience and Education required

  • Prior relevant  Sterile Processing  experience required
  • A Bachelor degree is preferred
  • Certified Registered Central Sterile Technologist (CRCST) required
  • Certification Healthcare Leadership strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work interdependently with others.
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to recognize and respond to the human dignity in those we serve.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills
  • Excellent project, business and management skills
  • Excellent critical thinking skills
  • Minimum of 3 years in a management/leadership role required
  • Role includes being Educator SPD at all campuses.
