CARDIAC SONOGRAPHERAdult Cardiac Sonographer needed on a per diem basis for the Echo Lab at New England Baptist Hospital
RESPONSIBILTIIES:
Sonographer must demonstrate proficiency by performing routine echocardiograms, including 2-dimensional, Doppler, Stress and Contrast studies, as requested by physician and in accordance with standard practices.
Operate equipment necessary to perform all required procedures and to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings; utilize ancillary devices such as selected transducers, digital networking system, off-line analysis systems.
Perform routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction to echo lab manager.
Analyze patient’s medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures. Prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist, including comparison of previous studies.
Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks/projects in an ethical and professional manner. Is able to communicate, in an effective manner, and coordinate the daily operations of the department.
Attend and participate in Echo related conferences, ensuring continuing education and professional growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification in cardiac ultrasound is required.
Bachelor's degree is preferred.
At least two years of experience is preferred.
