In addition to the duties of the NMT II, is a front-line representative of the management team, and provides leadership to the clinical staff when the need arises, including in-the-moment conflict resolution and service recovery. Maintains open, direct dialogue with division manager with regard to all areas of clinical operation, including, but not limited to, staff morale, equipment performance, optimization of patient schedule. Possesses a high degree of technical skill, and is responsible for the quality of the work performed in a clinical unit.

Job Description:

Provides front-line leadership to the staff technologists in the clinical area. Maintains an adequate volume of medical/surgical supplies and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure that a patient procedure can be performed whenever necessary. Has an in-depth understanding of the equipment, troubleshoots in the event of a technical or mechanical problem. Decides when and who to call for service. Consults with the physicist in the development of quality control procedures and instructs other personnel on technical aspects of their routine use. Participates in preparing for departmental inspections conducted by various licensing, regulatory, and accrediting agencies. Participates in writing procedures for the departmental Procedure Manual. After own training, trains other staff to use new equipment. Orients new staff to all departmental procedures and protocols.
