: Under the general supervision of the Client Service Manager, the Outreach Phlebotomy Supervisor provides leadership as part of the management team and assumes the responsibility of the daily operations of Outreach Phlebotomy.

The Outreach Phlebotomy Supervisor provides assistance in counseling staff, conducting reviews and competencies, maintaining accurate work schedules, training employees, maintaining inventory at all locations, creating and maintaining patient/provider schedules, keeping staff on track by communicating and redistributing resources throughout the day, documenting all service cases and working with other departments to optimize workflows and fix service issues, assisting in fill gap measures for staffing needs and staff assistance and maintains self-competencies in all services areas and patient service center locations. The Supervisor contributes to the organizations mission and vision by ensuring all sites are adequately staffed and trained and by ensuring that the staff provide high quality effective, efficient, safe, and timely, and patient-centered services. The Supervisor has the ability to work independently and demonstrate advanced technical and administrative skills regarding the above functions under the direction of the Client Service Manager.

Job Description:

Ensure adequate staffing and efficient, effective workflow for outpatient, off-site collection stations, and Inpatient Phlebotomy to meet clinical and provider demands Drive quality improvement initiatives, continuously looking for ways to improve department performance, service, and employee morale Training and ensure competency for new employees, nursing and medical students in the area of expertise Technical resource for difficult Phlebotomy blood draws for inpatient, outpatient and off site collection stations Shares on - call responsibilities Schedule, provide input for payroll and employee performance evaluations Communicate lab concerns to Clinical Manager and make suggestions for resolution Assume responsibility for helping the department achieve budget goals in accordance with the Clinical Manager. Maintain compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies including quality improvement training, safety compliance and competency in area of expertise Participation in major projects including space planning and department implementation of Laboratory Information System(s) in the area of expertise
