Job Description:

Join our rapidly expanding Vascular Neurology service at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center! We're a certified Comprehensive Stroke Center committed to providing superb, multidisciplinary care in a collaborative environment. Quality and safety are our top priorities as we grow our stroke APP service.

Details:

  • Part-time: 30 hours/week
  • Outpatient Training: One-third of your time will involve training in outpatient settings, typically for general neurology, headache, and stroke follow-up visits.
    • Opportunity to train in outpatient procedures like lumbar punctures, Botox administration, and nerve blocks.
  • Collaborative Team: Work closely with Neuroradiology, Interventional Neuroradiology, Vascular Neurosurgery, and Vascular Surgery.
  • Our Team Includes: 6 stroke physicians, 5 neuro-intensivists, 12 stroke/neurocritical APPs, and 3 stroke RNs.
  • Role: Function as a primary stroke APP under the guidance of a stroke physician.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Admitting, rounding on, and discharging patients with ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, and other cerebrovascular disorders.
    • Initial evaluation.
    • Development and implementation of diagnostic and therapeutic plans.
    • Interpretation of laboratory, imaging, and physiologic data.
    • Discussion of patients with consultants.
    • Clinical documentation, including discharge planning.
  • Growth Opportunities: Research and teaching opportunities are available if desired.

What We're Looking For:

We need a dedicated professional committed to delivering outstanding patient care with excellent interpersonal skills. You should be able to function semi-autonomously in the care of challenging and ill patients, and have enthusiasm for teaching, learning, and quality improvement as we build our stroke program.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a Nursing or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current NP or PA certification and license to practice in Massachusetts.
  • DEA.
  • MCSR.
