Under the direction of the CV Service line manager and the Medical Director of the Clinical Service, the Cardio Serv Clin Rev Nurse works to ensure all database forms are accounted for, completed, and clinically reviewed for accuracy and thoroughness in a timely and efficient manner.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

1. Collects and abstracts data from patient medical records, especially those related to cardiac care.

2. Ensures the accuracy and completeness of the abstracted data. Cross-references information from multiple sources within a patient's medical record.

3. Adheres to specific clinical data abstraction guidelines and standards, such as those set by the American College of Cardiology(ACC) and  presents metrics at designated meetings

4. Enters the abstracted data into a database or registry. This includes maintaining and updating the data as necessary.

5. Participates in quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity. This involves routine audits of the data or the abstraction process

6. Remains informed about developments in cardiac care and data management to ensure ongoing competency in the role.

7. Participates in reaccreditation activities.

  • Participates in Continuing Education as necessary.

  • Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles , Mission Statement and Goals  into daily activities. 

  • Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.

  • Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.

  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.

  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.

  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.

  • Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.

  • Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Training:Graduate of an exceeded Nursing Program, preferably Bachelor's degree in Science.

Licensure, Certification, Registration: Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Massachusetts

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Self motivated, highly detail oriented individual with strong communication skills. Ability to retrieve data from hard copy and computer based medical records. In the absence of any of these skills, demonstrates the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.

Experience:3-4 years in an inpatient acute care setting, preferable in an Invasive Cardiology Laboratory or Cardiac Operative setting.
