Position Summary:
Verify opening drawer, program register, accurately ring in all sales. Document over-ring, make correct change. Take register readings. Maintain cleanliness of work station. Maintain positive, courteous attitude toward all customers.

Job Description:

Hours: 7:00-3:30 or 6:00-2:30 Every Other Weekend, Rotating Holidays

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  • Verify opening $50.00 - $125.00 bank.  Report discrepancies to supervisor immediately.
  • Program prices into register as directed.
  • Ring all sales into register (cash and charge).
  • Record over-rings and charge sales.
  • Make accurate change.
  • Take register readings as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workstation.
  • Assist in maintaining cleanliness of service area and restocking of condiment station.
  • Maintain positive, courteous attitude towards all customers.
  • Immediately inform lead, supervisor or manager of any problems, discrepancies or potential problems.
  • Attends all in-services.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by lead, supervisor or manager.
  • Respond in a positive manner to surprise cash audits.
  • Wear proper Lahey Clinic ID Badge and hand-washing badge while on Lahey Campus
  • Incorporates Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles and Mission Statement into daily activities. 
  • Complies with all Lahey Clinic Policies.
  • Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Clinic.
  • Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
  • Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to our Customer Service standards.
  • Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
  • Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.
  • Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Ability to politely interact with public.        

Licensure, Certification, Registration: None

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Light to moderate moving and lifting of bulky materials.
  • Hand to eye coordination.
  • Manual dexterity.

Experience:

  • One-year previous cashiering experience required
  • Ability to handle cash accurately.
  • Ability to handle large sales volume in a relatively short period of time.
