The Imaging Systems Administrator II follows and optimizes processes and procedures for maintenance and support of radiology systems. Maintains systems up time. Implements agreed upon architectural changes for radiology systems. Trains radiology systems engineers of the same level and below, radiology personnel involved in end user support, and end users.Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities including but not limited to:
- Optimizes processes and procedures for maintenance and support of the radiology systems.
- Primary responsibility for radiology systems uptime
- Provides technical support for new projects implementation.
- Supports vendor’s implementation of radiology systems.
- Verifies that new systems implementation complies with agreed upon systems architecture and interfaces to other systems
- Coordinates service activities with departmental users and supporting departments and vendors.
- Maintains, monitors, and performs routine and emergency data backup and recovery.
- Assists end users with radiology systems.
- Assists as required in needs analysis, design, implementation and maintenance of the radiology systems and their relationships to other Hospital Information Systems.
- Performs onsite and remote access to radiology systems.
- Responds to service calls or system errors with troubleshooting and corrective actions in the radiology systems.
- Participates in various radiology and extra-departmental projects
- Assists in providing systems data analysis to radiology customers to address collection of operating and financial statistical data in standard reports/ custom ad hoc reports for monitoring /evaluating on-going operations and control and for the development of business plans in capital acquisition and budgeting.
- Provides analysis and recommends workflow changes to management and department.
- Primary responsibility in providing test plans to address functional and performance compliance of the radiology systems during upgrades and update of software
- Will participate in and on occasion be responsible for formulating, documenting and communicating various Policies and Procedures for a wide range of radiology related issues.
- Coordinates with Lahey IT the creation of new user accounts with the appropriate security and functionality as required for that user, communicates that information to those users and trains them as needed in the use of those systems.
- Will be able to coordinate with other hospital departments including IT and Maintenance for power/data installation and configuration needs for new printers, computers, workstations, telephones, imaging modalities and other information technology related equipment.
- Participates in a rotating on-call coverage schedule for nights, weekends & holidays.to cover any and all radiology systems.
- Takes direction from radiology leadership and senior members of the Informatics team.
- Complies with all HIPPA/HITECH regulations and information security measures required by Information Technology
- Maintains strict adherence to Lahey’s confidentiality policy.
- Incorporates Lahey Health Mission Statement and Goals into daily activities.
- Complies with all Lahey Health Policies.
- Complies with behavioral expectations of the department and Lahey Health.
- Maintains courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
- Demonstrates an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
- Demonstrates a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to Customer Service standards.
- Participates in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
- Participates in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.
- Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Associate’s degree in Computer Science or a related field or five or more years' experience in a Radiology IT department.
Licensure, Certification, Registration: Active driver’s license (Clean Driving Record Required)
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- Ability to comprehend integrated systems interfaces and data exchange
- Ability to understand role of information technology in healthcare
- Ability to troubleshoot systems to component level
- Ability to perform PC Troubleshooting, Repair.
- Ability to understand network infrastructure and network dependency in service delivery
- Knowledge of Clinical Workflow.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP, DICOM & HL7 communication
- Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills.
- Ability to train & support users of all experience levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft office applications.
- Ability to provide field service and customer support.
- Knowledge of information systems implementation /migration.
- Knowledge of LAN WAN and SAN (storage area network)
Experience:
- Minimum systems administration 3-5 years depending upon education.
- PC Troubleshooting, Repair & Maintenance.
- Experience with operating systems for PC and servers
- Experience with remote diagnostic support for technical and end user problems
