We are seeking experienced nurses for our Coronary Care Unit (CCU)/Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The CCU/ICU is a 16-bed acute critical care area that cares for critically ill patients with life-threatening illnesses including various shock states, cardiac disorders, post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, and hepato-renal failure. The CCU/ICU nurses are a highly trained team that specializes in the provision of life-saving measures and the management of patients requiring mechanical support devices (IABP, Impella, VA & VV ECMO), ventilatory support, CVVH, and EKOS. The nursing team works collaboratively with the Pulmonary Critical Care and Cardiology teaching services, along with respiratory therapy and other disciplines to provide cutting-edge treatments and high-quality patient care. The ICU/CCU values and exhibits teamwork, collegiality, and advocacy for our patients and each other. There are opportunities at the unit and organization level where you have an effective voice regarding professional practice as well as care provision. Self-scheduling, every third weekend, and holiday rotation are available.
Qualifications
- BSN preferred
- At least 1 year of previous Nursing experience in acute care or sub-acute setting required
- Critical Care and Telemetry experience preferred
- Current Massachusetts registered Nurse license required
- ACLS certification with American Heart Association required
- Demonstrate critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
- Lifting 75 lbs. maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
