Surgical Vitreoretinal Specialist

Join our team! Lahey Hospital & Medical Center (a founding member of Beth Israel Lahey Health) seeks a skilled and enthusiastic Surgical Vitreoretinal Specialist to join our team of six retina doctors.
About Lahey:
- Physician-led, multi-disciplinary group practice of 600+ doctors.
- Tertiary and quaternary care.
- Regional campus of UMass Chan School of Medicine.
- Part of Beth Israel Lahey Health.
- Located in Burlington and Peabody, MA (north of Boston).
- Excellent school systems, abundant cultural activities, and convenient access to Boston, mountains, and seacoast.
About the Role:
- Join a collegial and supportive retina team of six doctors (five surgeons, one medical retina physician, and a uveitis specialist).
- Provide outstanding care to local, national, and international patients.
- Teach fellows (two per year in our AUPO-compliant fellowship) and residents.
- Opportunity for academic appointments at UMass Chan School of Medicine and Tufts University School of Medicine.
- See patients at two main clinics (Burlington and Peabody) and surrounding private practices.
- Perform surgeries in our state-of-the-art ambulatory operating room in Peabody.
- Support for investigator-sponsored and pharma-sponsored clinical research, CME, and attending meetings.
- Commitment to global health (past outreach in Turkey, Egypt, and Tanzania).
- Interest in uveitis is a plus, but not required.
About the Ophthalmology Department:
- Dynamic and busy service with 16 ophthalmologists and 8 optometrists.
- Participation in the Tufts/New England Eye Center Ophthalmology Residency program.
