Reporting to the Director of Quality & Patient Safety, The Quality Systems Analyst demonstrates strong analytic, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills to coordinate and facilitate priority initiatives that drive innovative approaches to quality, safety, and efficiency for patients across the care continuum. Performs system administration functions and data analyst on Quality software applications. Provides data analysis and interpretation of quality measures and reported patient safety issues. Works with clinical staff to review and interpret data and implement performance improvement initiatives to deliver excellence in clinical care.Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities
Serve as system manager and report writer on rL Solutions Safety Reporting (STARS) and Patient Complaints database.
Serves as the primary analyst for Vizient CDB and other systems including Provider Performance and Resource Manager including managing extracts and reporting.
- Serves as the primary analyst for the Medisolv performance measure reporting tool for CMS, MassHealth and Joint Commission measures including managing data extracts, users, reporting and measure submissions and serving as the primary liaison with IS
- Serve as a system administrator and report writer on PressGaney Fusion reporting application.
- Works collaboratively with OneIS and Quality and Safety to assure compliance with Promoting Interoperability (PI) and eCQM measures. Manages reporting of PI/eCQM data to Qualitynet and Joint Commission as required.
- Analyses data and compiles reports and analysis from Quality Reporting systems and Clinical Data Registries using both proprietary and industry reporting tools such as Excel and Crystal reports.
- Coordinate the retrieval of information and creation of reports from other systems as directed.
- Reviews documentation and analyzes the specifications and requirements provided by external reporting agencies and designs or customizes database software applications to meet these needs.
- Verify data collected and reported by the department is accurate by performing data validation checks to ascertain the accuracy of data entered and reported.
- Manages assigned projects, including creating and maintaining work plans, and keeping improvement teams on track to produce deliverables on time.
- Develops and tracks project milestones, performance measures, and dashboards.
- Performs all steps of analysis: literature search, tool development, data collection, data analysis and benchmarking, and presentation of results. Facilitate the use of statistical techniques to analyze data through Vizient, Excel, and other database software.
- Preparing presentations and reports for work teams and leadership groups as directed.
Required Qualifications
- Verbal, quantitative, and interpersonal skills are generally acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree or three to four years of relevant Healthcare IT experience.
- Healthcare IT, Electronic Health Record, or Clinical Data experience preferred.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and reporting deadlines.
- Ability to grasp technical information, detail-oriented, with excellent writing, and research and organizational experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; Strong definition, analysis, development, and documentation skills.
- Ability to understand and graphically display complex numerical data using a variety of graphing tools and present the information to both clinical and non-clinical employees.
- Knowledge of project management, quality improvement techniques, and statistical analysis methods.
- Experience with Clinical Data Registries, rL Solutions, Vizient Clinical Database, and Press Ganey is desirable but not required.*
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Ability to effectively facilitate groups and meet team deadlines remotely.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
