Under the direction of the EHR Training Manager, the IT Principal Trainer 2 leads all elements of training, planning, design, development, and implementation for designated application(s) in the EHR program. The IT Principal Trainer 2 will independently work closely with their application team(s) to understand workflows that have been designed and the major points to stress in training. The IT Principal Trainer 2 will be responsible for creating and maintaining training environments, customizing training materials and builds, and testing in the training environment. The Principal Trainer II is responsible for training additional classroom trainers, super users, and new hires and providing golive support.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to: 
1.    Responsible for all elements of training creation: curriculum design, lesson planning, test patient/user development, and implementation for designated application(s)/programs for BILH enterprise while meeting established goals.
2.    Develop training strategy for designated application(s) and projects.
3.    Design and coordinate training tasks outlined in the training project plan
4.    Collaborate with and provide direction to Credentialed Trainers associated with applications and programs.
5.    Responsible for understanding workflows of designated applications.
6.    Build, test, and maintain the training environment. Creates and maintains functional specification documents for the training environment and validates the content. Completes thorough testing of all builds in a training environment prior to its utilization in training.
7.    Determine and develop the criteria used to assess learners’ performance.
8.    Apply instructional design theories, practices, and methods.
9.    Train end users, super users, and additional classroom trainers on assigned applications/projects.
10.    Design, develop, and incorporate appropriate training modalities including but not limited to instructor-led training, eLearning, web-based training, video, demonstrations, tip sheets, and blended learning.
11.    Identify and advocate for innovative learning solutions that meet user’s needs.
12.    Participate in the development of additional support/training for EUs based on user data obtained from Epic.
13.    Mentor new Principal Trainer’s.
14.    Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: 
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Licensure, Certification & Registration:    Certification in two or more Epic EHR applications/ additional certification obtained within first 90 days of hire if required.
Experience:    3 - 5 years of Epic EHR instructional design and MST build experience with two or more Epic applications.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:    
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
    Bachelor’s Degree in computer science/information systems, healthcare, business, education, or equivalent.
