The Supervisor, Epic/Vended Applications, is a member of the BILH IT Epic Service Line Leadership team with responsibilities for the ongoing enhancement/implementation and maintenance of assigned patient care/clinical applications and/or administrative applications. The Supervisor takes direction from, and collaborates with, the Epic Leadership team on work priorities, build methodologies and manages the resolution of escalated issues. The Supervisor will provide direct supervision to a team of three to five staff and indirect supervision to the remainder of the assigned application team(s). The Supervisor will be the primary support contact for their respective application(s) as well as serve as a point of contact for various other applications within their assigned team. The Supervisor will also be responsible for ensuring team/cross-team collaboration, a high level of customer satisfaction, and strong team cohesion, mentorship and positive morale. Oversees management, for the assigned team(s), assuring SLAs for incidents are met and project timelines and deliverables are achieved. Possesses a strong understanding of the assigned applications and healthcare landscape. Operates and manages with financial responsibility and adherence to the BILH IT mission and vision.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Manages execution of work set forth by the BILH IT Epic Senior Leadership team to support the mission and vision of overall EHR application management, and related solutions, to foster a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques.
2. Manages implementation, testing and change management of EHR applications and related solutions. Contributes strategic direction and oversight for design, development, documents, operation and support of application systems that fulfill business needs.
3. Creates/maintains functional specification documents to create content within the application and is primarily responsible for validating this content with the business owner.
4. Champions the relationship between BILH IT, external vendors and BILH operational staff, within areas of oversight, through clear communication and alignment of the service line goals to advance safe, quality driven clinical care.
5. Contributes to the success of the Epic Service Line by assuring excellent customer service and adherence to SLAs. Assures a culture of continuous improvement and maintains a deep connection with leadership.
6. Responsible for resource allocation within direct reports and partners with other leaders for indirect reports. Partners with Managers and other service line leaders to understand the impact prioritization; understands level of effort related to projects and objectives and current workload of direct reports.
7. Directly supports application projects, day to day operations and break fix issues across BILH. Project support may include project management responsibilities.
8. Responsible for the HR aspect of team management, including talent acquisition and retention, reviews and necessary performance improvement activities. Works with EHR Manager to provide education and training to the staff for well implemented EHR systems. Manages contract staff when necessary.
9. Mentors, guides and leads team members of all levels to facilitate career growth. Provides guidance, assistance and feedback, as needed.
10. Has the authority to direct and support employees' daily work activities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews for direct reports.
11. Provides on-call / after-hours support as required including coordination of on-call schedules.
12. Performs all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department and/or customer.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, Healthcare or related field strongly preferred.
Licensure, Certification & Registration: For Epic Application Supervisors required certification/Accreditation in good standing, for applications/modules employee is assigned to support. If not currently certified/accredited employee will have 6 months from their Date of Hire or Date of Transfer into a position that requires certification (proficiency) to obtain such certification.
Experience:
5-8 years’ related work experience required in 5+ years proven experience (demonstrating career progression) working in an Information Services Dept. or software vendor organization within the healthcare industry. Previous experience as a Sr. Analyst, leading teams or work groups, or previous supervisory experience.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.

8. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner.
