RAD TECH AIDE

Responsible for assisting with patient through put in Radiology Department. Including but not limited to transportation of patients to providers, assist Radiologic Technologists and communicate with patients regarding the day’s flow. Administrative duties are also a part of everyday task, you may be asked to assist with patient check in/registration per the needs of the department. You may be asked to assist throughout the department, including other modalities (CT and MRI). May be asked to assist in off site locations per department needs.

Job Description:

RAD TECH AIDE

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Prepare exam rooms for incoming patients
  • Participate in patient throughput within the radiology suite
  • Provide support to Patient Care coordinators with registration of patients and associated tasks
  • Provide support to Radiological Technologists including but not limited to retrieving and preparing the patient for exam, preparing the room for exam
  • Act as the professional liaison between the radiology department and the various providers
  • Transport patient as necessary to providers office
  • May be asked to provide assistance to patient

Decision Making:

Makes decisions based on specific instructions, standard practices, and/or established procedures.  Any deviations from these require review/approval from a higher level of authority.

Problem Solving:

Addresses problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, knowledge and skills based on general precedents.

Independence of Action

Follows precedents and procedures to perform tasks.  May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines.  Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations.  Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager. 

Patient Contact:

Regular provision of service in a patient care area.  Examples: Unit coordinators, lead coordinator/supervisor, patient liaison, nutrition services, environmental services, registrars, information desks, security, etc.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Has no supervisory responsibilities

EDUCATION

Required

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION

Required

  • Heart Saver Certification

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 0-1 years

Additional REQUIRED Qualifications/Skills:

  • Able to perform/carry out duties in a fast-paced environment     
  • Dependable     
  • Able to take direction
