As an Administrative Assistant III at the Needham Cancer Center, you’ll support a Harvard-affiliated, multidisciplinary oncology team that values both clinical excellence and work-life balance.

This is a full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime role with no weekends, holidays, or evenings – giving you the stability and predictability to thrive both professionally and personally. Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main administrative contact for assigned Hematology/Oncology providers and their patients
  • Manage clinical templates and physician schedules
  • Obtain referrals and authorizations for patient visits
  • Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-ups, and multidisciplinary appointment planning
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and families in person and by phone
  • Prepare medical records and documentation in Web OMR and CCC
  • Transcribe notes and correspondence
  • Queue prescription renewals and perform initial medication list reviews for provider review
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and accuracy across all documentation

What You Bring

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3 to 5 years of administrative experience in a healthcare or medical office environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and electronic medical records
  • Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills
  • Professionalism and the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion

Preferred:

  • Associate’s degree
  • Familiarity with Epic, CCC, or similar clinical systems
  • Experience in oncology, specialty, or ambulatory care environments
