Job Description:
40 hrs/wk, M - F, 8am -4:30pm
To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable the individual to perform essential functions.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Answer phones, greet patients, route calls to appropriate staff and schedule patient appointments.
- Obtains insurance information from patients and obtains insurance verification for services
- Coordinates patient ancillary testing with other hospital departments
- Enters patient charges and verifies charges, reconciling as directed
- Assembles new patient charts, maintains and files existing patient charts, audits charts for data completeness and signatures
- Appointment reminders
- Maintain office supplies and equipment
- Data entry
- Dual training as Patient Care Assistant to cross cover if needed.
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum Experience:
Medical Office Administration and/or medical records experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Customer Service preferred.
