Job Description:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:      

  • Conducts annual performance appraisals of staff in a timely manner in accordance with hospital policy and without repeated reminders.
  • Develops a feedback rich environment by responding promptly to concerns, issues, or complaints presented by staff and appropriately closes the loop. Follows up with employees on issues raised at departmental meetings.
  • Ensures the employees are compliant with strategies for patient satisfaction and attendance management criteria and serves as a role model for both.
  • Develops budgets for department(s) that demonstrate industry benchmark standards in productivity and performance. Tracks financial progress and manages to that budget. Variances are explained and rectified if at all possible.
  • Monitors FTE’s and keeps authorizing departmental staffing complements.
  • Is accountable for relevant patient safety and quality initiatives, ensuring that a safe environment is provided for patients and employees within the organization. Posts safety data (CLABSI, infections, SCIPS Measures).
  • Provides staff with the education, training, and knowledge to do the same on ongoing basis.

Scheduled Hours: 40 hrs/wk

Work Shift: Days

Education Required: Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program. BSN required; MSN preferred.

Licenses, Registrations, Certifications Required:

  • State of Massachusetts RN licensure (or eligibility) 
  • BLS
  • ACLS​

Experience: A minimum of 5 years progressive leadership experience.
