Who we are:

The Clinical Decision Unit (CDU) at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth is a modern, 25-bed unit designed to care for patients needing short-term treatments, assessments, and monitoring while they wait to determine if they can be discharged home or admitted as inpatients. This unit is equipped to handle a high volume of patient turnover, with a typical stay of 8-48 hours, similar to the fast-paced environment of an Emergency Room. Patients in the CDU undergo diagnostic testing and receive care in a telemetric setting, allowing for close observation and evaluation of their condition.
