Clinical Dietitian – Per Diem

As a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, BID-Plymouth provides comprehensive healthcare services to over 250,000 residents in Plymouth and Barnstable counties. Our Nutrition Services Team consists of registered and licensed dietitians who provide expert nutritional interventions to improve patient health outcomes.

In your role as a Clinical Dietitian, you will:

  • Perform nutrition screening and nutritional assessments on high-risk patients.
  • Develop and implement care plans and provide follow-up assessments and update care plans, as needed.
  • Provide inpatient nutritional care (e.g. nutrition consults, tube feedings, and Total Parenteral Nutrition [TPN]) and communicates nutrition care plans with appropriate interdisciplinary staff.
  • Recommend action plans to the physicians for patients on tube feedings and TPN.
  • Serve as preceptor for dietetic interns during their clinical rotations.
  • Provides training to other health care professionals as needed.
  • Actively participate in departmental and/or interdisciplinary meetings, task forces and projects such as quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Education:
    Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics required if graduated after January 2024
  • If graduated prior to January 2024 you will be grandfathered in with a Bachelors per the Commission of Dietetic registration
  • Certification & Licensure:
    Registered Dietitian (RD) required.
    Massachusetts Dietitian/Nutritionist License (must obtain within 90 days of hire).
  • Skills & Experience:
    Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or Access).

  • Scheduled according to needs/availability of department
