Director – Cancer Care and Infusion Services

Who we are:

The Jordan Hospital Club Cancer Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital–Plymouth provides complete care for every type of cancer, including melanoma, breast cancer, lymphoma and leukemia. We offer the full range of community cancer services — from early detection and diagnosis to the latest therapies in medical and radiation oncology.  Our cancer specialists are also involved in many clinical trials that provide patients with potential access to emerging treatment options.

We believe that a seamless, multidisciplinary team approach to cancer diagnosis and treatment serves patients best. That’s why we bring together experts in surgery, oncology, radiology, radiation oncology, nutrition, nursing, infusion, and pathology into a single coordinated team to fight cancer.

Your Duties and Responsibilities:

In this highly visible role, you will provide strategic leadership and oversight to the continuum of cancer care and infusion.  In addition, you will develop and implement initiatives to expand and maximize the effectiveness of the services including targeted performance improvement initiatives.  Responsibilities also include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborating with the nursing and medical staff leadership on issues related to service delivery, technology and equipment, capital planning, revenue generation and enhancement and related administrative matters.
  • Coordinating resources to meet patient care demands while ensuring programs and services are in compliance with hospital and corporate policies as well as federal, state and local agency regulations including Joint Commission, DPH, OSHA and FDA.
  • Actively participating in hospital-wide quality improvement process activities, fostering intra and inter-departmental collaboration with staff, physicians, volunteers and vendors to promote the overall success of the departments and the organization.
  • Evaluating the orientation and performance of employees; Promoting staff development and create an environment of continuous learning.
  • Promoting the development and implementation of best practices and the cultivation of a highly efficient patient flow process.
  • Supporting instructors from schools of education to provide for student learning opportunities.
  • Serves on/chairs hospital-wide committees, fostering collaboration and role modeling for effective and accountable leadership.

Requirements:

  • B.S. required; Master’s degree in Health-related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience required, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Possess a solid background in planning, organizing and supervising a multi-disciplinary team.
  • A problem solver with knowledge of financial reports including operational/capital budgets with proven ability to create and manage annual budgets.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective communication (oral and written) abilities are essential.
  • Recent experience/knowledge of the latest treatment protocols, equipment and technologies is highly preferred.
