Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for maintaining overall cleanliness of environment of assigned areas.
  • Maintenance and sanitation of equipment.
  • Responsible for function setups and moving requests.
  • Responsible for organizing and prioritizing project work to completion.
  • Responsible for setting up, organizing and planning Housekeeping staff schedules.
  • Responsible for supervising and training Housekeeping staff.

Education/Experience Required:

  • Ability to both cover cleaning schedules as required and the ability to set up, organize and plan Housekeeping schedules as needed.
  • Knowledge and ability to set up, organize and prioritize project work to be completed.
  • Must have skills required to supervise and train Housekeeping staff in doing project work.
  • Must have ability to pass department project work written test and show proficiency in doing project work.
  • Must have at least 1 year experience in a supervisory position, preferably Housekeeping.
  • Knowledge:
    • Ability to demonstrate A thorough working knowledge of hospital,
    • departmental and infection control procedures. Ability to both cover cleaning schedules as required and the ability to set up,
    • organize and plan Housekeeping schedules as needed.
    • Knowledge and ability to set up, organize and prioritize project work to be completed.
    • Must have skills required to supervise and train Housekeeping staff in doing project work.
    • Must have ability to pass department project work written test and show proficiency in doing project work.
    • Must have at least 1 year experience in a supervisory position, preferably Housekeeping.
  • Written Communication: Ability to read, and write in English in order to understand basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively with patients, families and other hospital staff, and respond to basic questions.
  • Oral Communication: Ability to understand spoken English in order to follow basic safety instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively in basic English with patients, families and hospital staff in response to routine questions.
  • Must be able to read, write, and follow written and oral directions in English at the 12th grade level.
  • Must be 18 years old

Physical/Environmental Requirements

This job requires frequent bending, carrying, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, stooping, walking and lifting over 10 lbs. There will be occasional need for climbing stairs, lifting in excess of 50 – 100 lbs and sitting. Constant use of hearing, sight and speech. Frequent use of smell and touch. Frequent keyboard and telephone use. Constant concentration and problem solving.
