The Director, Pharmacy Strategy Planning leads the development and implementation of strategic pharmacy initiatives across the Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) system and member institutions. The Director works closely with BILH Leadership, particularly the Chief Pharmacy Officer and VP of Pharmacy Business Operations, to manage the ongoing refinement of an enterprise strategic planning function that supports the growth and development of pharmacy services across the BILH system. Responsible for the project management, process improvement, business case development and administrative coordination functions. The Director helps to ensure the successful implementation of strategic goals through the successful planning and prioritization of major initiatives. The leader works cross-functionally with other areas (e.g. IS, HR, finance) and member institutions to foster collaboration and strategic alignment. Supports development of effective operations and infrastructure by being an agent for ongoing organizational change; working to align efforts, foster collaboration and communication. Works closely with the Chief Pharmacy Officer and Board to support effective organizational governance.

Job Description:

Leads and/or participates in the organization, management, and implementation of projects that require broad cross-institutional support and input from multiple stakeholders. Ensures all projects have timelines and teams have clear goals, objectives, and milestones consistent with objectives. Leads and directs process improvement activities, creating demonstrable efficiencies. Identify, develop and implement tools for appropriate project tracking and monitoring. Directs cross functional efforts to assess, develop and finalize business development, such as financial/accounting, due diligence, legal, reimbursement, regulatory and compliance, information technology and other areas, as needed. Evaluates overall fit of business development efforts within the context of strategic direction of pharmacy services. Prepares and presents business opportunities to the senior leadership team and others. Systematically cultivates and maintains long-term, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and with other organizations to achieve mutual goals. Thinks creatively and strategically to successfully mediate and negotiate with individuals and groups internally and externally to foster effective partnerships. Establishes processes for effective organizational communication, development and governance. Provides ongoing motivation, coaching, guidance, feedback and mentoring support to teams. Oversees contracted services (environmental services, security, maintenance).
