Job Description:

Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, has a new Outreach & Engagement Coordinator position on our Maternal Child Health Services Team. QUALIFICATIONS

Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.

Experience: 2–3 years of prior customer service or patient care experience, including experience working with physicians in a community-based setting.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities effectively while maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and workflows.
  • Strong leadership and management skills; collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Experience with Epic, Epic Healthy Planet, and Arcadia preferred.
  • Social media skills preferred.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Community Outreach:

  • Champions the hospital's involvement in community engagement, needs assessment, prioritization and cross-sector collaboration related to OB. Ensures regular schedule of outreach within the community, including physician practices, referral base, other community organizations (sports clubs, schools) that would benefit from our services.
  • Supports the BILH system by identifying opportunities to engage and be more present within the local service area/community but also focus on secondary and potential service areas.   
  • Serves as ambassador to OB Service works in collaboration with the Vice President, hospital leadership, and team members to engage the community, and design strategies to address needs within the community.  Builds and sustains strategic relationships and promotes community relations and activities to internal and external audiences. Supports the service line and leadership in identifying and participating in events to support strategic service line growth.
  • Understands the OB market and uses marketing analysis to identifying opportunities for practice growth and expansion, and facilitate and execute on outreach within identified areas of opportunity.   
  • Ensures contact with the private practices within the Winchester community, as surrounding BILH community.  Functions as the primary point of contact for community practices, organizations and community members and represents the hospital on assigned community collaborations/boards related to OB.

Department Outreach:

  • Understands the hospital’s OB service line, including strategic goals, volume targets, and operational priorities.  Maintains reports, presentations, etc. in order to communicate performance regarding goals, targets, and priorities. 
  • Serves as a contact for patients on L&D and MBU, engaged in patient rounding and encouraging feedback.  As part of this role, serves as a resource to patients during their admission or post discharge. 
  • Understands the services provided within the OB department, including L&D, MBU, and MFM, and serves as a source of information to the community and patients.
  • Primary contact for scheduling tours and maintaining collateral related to the hospital OB department.

  • Maintain strict adherence to all BILH and BILHPN Policies.
  • Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and providers and stake holders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment toward meeting and exceeding the needs of our customers and consistently adheres to customer service standards.
  • Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
  • Participate in and successfully completes Mandatory Education.
  • Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Occasional weekends and frequent evenings are required as well as frequent travel between campuses, and community events and organizations.
