Job Description:

Winchester Hospital, a member of Beth Israel Lahey Health, has a new opportunity on our Quality & Safety Team. Be part of the mission to deliver exceptional personalized care within our Magnet-designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 229-bed hospital. As the Patient Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for the following:

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission by taking the lead on the hospital’s patient safety program, investigating issues and leading or participating in patient safety related performance improvement initiatives.  This professional clinical position will have an impact on patient safety and the culture of safety demonstrated by our staff.  It is the goal of this position to address issues so to prevent future occurrences and to ensure Winchester as a safe place for our patients to receive care.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Required:

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) or other health care related field. Must obtain BSN within 5 years of hire  Preferred: BSN upon hire


Experience

Required:  

  • At least five (5) years RN experience in a clinical setting

  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis

  • Working knowledge of CMS Quality Core Measures programs

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in performance improvement, including team facilitation.

  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or other project management principles
