The Clinical Program Coordinator is fundamental to the daily operations, implementation, and ongoing evaluation and improvement of BIDMC’s Telestroke and Teleneurology services. These services are directed towards the provision of high-quality, timely care for patients with stroke and other neurological conditions across a network of affiliated sites. In collaboration with the Stroke Medical Director, the Clinical Program Coordinator oversees the daily operations of these services and works closely with the multidisciplinary team members to support program operations, performance improvement activities, and coordination across the broader stroke program and network.

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ongoing development, processing, update & review of the transfer process and agreements for patients with stroke from Telestroke facilities to BIDMC, when necessary, for tertiary care & advanced interventional therapies.
  • Ongoing review of regional needs/market and identification of potential opportunities to expand BIDMC Telestroke and Teleneurology programs.
  • Problem solving for operational issues at BIDMC and BIDMC Telestroke/Teleneurology affiliates.
  • Working closely with the Telestroke/Teleneurology vendor to address any technical issues and to implement “go-live” or vendor software updates for BIDMC Telestroke/Teleneurology affiliates.
  • Collection, ongoing monitoring, review, and monthly reporting of the BIDMC Telestroke quality metrics including call-to-response time, call-to-needle time (when applicable), and timely completion of the consult note(s) to the Program Director and Telestroke affiliates
  • Monitoring transferred patients’ status through Interdisciplinary Team Rounds attendance and providing a written summary of patient outcomes and hospital course to the Telestroke facility on a regular basis.
  • Review and collection of Telestroke and Teleneurology consult volume and activity per facility on a monthly basis for invoicing
  • Providing ongoing education, stroke updates and support for complex clinical issues for staff at the Telestroke affiliates
  • Assisting with onboarding, training and orientation of incoming stroke fellows and their credentialing at Telestroke affiliate on an annual basis.
  • Assist with onboarding, training and orientation of Teleneurology faculty at affiliate sites
  • Interacting with the staff at Telestroke affiliates to enhance local performance and DIDO (door-in-to-door-out) times, when applicable.
  • Providing support in designing, launching, and ongoing management of Teleneurology sites to include data tracking and partnership with Medical Director to support workflow optimization for faculty and affiliate sites
  • Organizing and leading the BIDMC Stroke Support Group monthly meetings in collaboration with the Stroke Medical Director, the Comprehensive Stroke Center Program Director and BIDMC Social Workers.
  • Management and oversight of the Stroke Ambassador Program
  • Supporting Comprehensive Stroke Center activities, including participation in Joint Commission survey preparation and related program initiatives
  • Participating in meetings, committees, and work groups related to the Comprehensive Stroke Center program.
  • Serving as the stroke program point person within the multidisciplinary dysphagia pathway, including oversight, coordination with internal teams and external rehabilitation partners, and support of pathway development and performance improvement

Required Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. 
  • License Registered Nurse required, and Certificate 1 Basic Life Support required. 
  • 3-5 years related work experience required. 
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web-based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience with Stroke, Neurology or Neurosurgical patients

 

 

Pay Range:

$81,411.20 USD – $210,371.20 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
