The CCU/ICU is a dynamic, fast-paced 8-bed unit. Staffed by an inter-disciplinary team dedicated to providing a wide range of critical care services to individuals requiring a high level of care, such as mechanical ventilation, central line placement, non-invasive ventilation such as BiPaP, and titration. Our team services a variety of patient populations including the elderly, post-ops, COVID-positive individuals, and patients who transition to comfort measures. Our staff passionately provide individualized care to patients in need that aligns with Beth Israel Deaconess Milton’s mission statement of being “committed to improving the health of our community by providing exceptional, personalized health care with dignity, compassion, and respect.”
This position is per diem, with a variety of shifts and hours available, including weekends and holidays. Primarily involves 12-hour shifts. Per diem employees are required to work a minimum of 16 hours per month, one winter holiday shift and one summer holiday shift.
Job Description:
Beth Israel Deaconess Milton is currently seeking an ICU Registered Nurse to join our team. The ICU RN is responsible for the care of patients within the ICU. Under the general supervision of the Nurse Manager, within the framework of the RN license, participates in the following:
- Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process
- Systematically assesses the health status of patients
- Analyzes and interprets data and makes nursing judgments regarding care
- Plans, implements and coordinates nursing interventions
- Evaluates outcome of nursing interventions
- Revises/updates plan of care
- Documents nursing process clearly and concisely
- Communicates nursing plan effectively
Minimum Requirements:

Equivalent to a graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current licensure by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.

Must complete an individualized critical care orientation and the Milton Hospital or equivalent telemetry course.

Basic Life Support certification required

Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification preferred, required within six months of hire.

Current IV skill preferred, completion of IV competency within six months of hire.

At least two years medical-surgical experience preferred.

Telemetry experience preferred.

Pay Range:
$36.00 – $90.14
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
