Job Description:
The Clinical Resource Nurse is Registered Nurse who plays a key role as part of the patient care team by providing clinical support, role modeling clinical excellence, and fostering a collaborative, patient-centered model of care. The Clinical Resource Nurse acts as a clinical expert who provides support and direct patient care to a variety of nursing units and can function across all units providing episodic nursing care to promote safe patient outcomes.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Clinical Inquiry
Demonstrates clinical excellence through advanced clinical knowledge and skills. Role-models and supports safe, evidence-based practice. Supports primary nurse by assisting with management of high acuity and/or critically ill patients. Responds and performs delegated activities in emergency and code situations. Performs relevant documentation duties with adherence to professional practice standards, standards of care and practice guidelines. Provides clinical guidance and support to healthcare team members. Serve as a resource for interpretation and integration of current policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines into practice. Communicates patient status concerns to appropriate health care team members in a timely manner. Provides direct patient care as required by Nursing Leadership. Travels and transports patients as assigned. Performs other related duties as assigned. Rounds throughout all areas and act as a resource for staff. Ability to perform calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Works with staff and leadership to improve patient experience. Responds to requests in a timely manner. Prioritizes patient care and nursing interventions based on patient needs. Exceptional critical thinking skills
Mentor
Acts as an effective role model and resource for the nursing staff. Fosters a team approach to patient care delivery. Promotes good interpersonal relationships by modeling professional behavior and best practice to maintain a positive working climate. Provide feedback on performance to the learner that is specific, timely, meaningful and candid. Provide emotional support to the novice nurse using the concepts associated with Reality Shock and Novice to Expert Theories. Shares professional knowledge with other healthcare team members
Leadership
Participates in relevant educational programs, in-services and workshops to increase professional competency and meet personal needs and goals. Collaborates with Professional Practice to deliver and/or reinforce new educational initiatives. Incorporates evidence-based practice into daily practice. Excellent communication skills and ability to interact effectively during difficult situations
Education/Experience Required:

Five years as a Registered Nurse, acute care experience preferred.

2 years of Critical Care or Emergency Department experience

BSN
Registration/Certification:

Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts

AHA ACLS

AHA PALS

Certification in area of clinical expertise or within 6 months of hire

Pay Range:
$37.14 – $82.22
This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement. The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. The pay range for this position is established and governed by the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement. Employees hired into this position will receive compensation consistent with the terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
