The Respiratory Therapist provides Respiratory care to all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adult and geriatrics. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing all modes of respiratory therapy using therapist driven protocols, along with arterial blood gas collection and analysis. The candidate will also be responsible for Critical Care of the adult patient, using the ABCDE protocol for weaning ventilator patients, V60 BiPAP machines, Bronchoscopy assists and emergency airway management. They will be working in a Level II SCN providing Bubble CPAP and short-term vent management. Along with inpatient therapy, the Respiratory Department provides services to the Emergency Department, Inpatient Psychiatric floor and outpatient services.
-Administers aerosolized medications in a timely manner in accordance with department Policy and Therapist Driven Protocols
-Obtains Arterial Blood Gas samples through arterial stick or A-line draws -Processes all blood gas samples in accordance with CAP guidelines. All results are reported in the patient EMR
-An active member of the Rapid Response Team, Code Team, and Trauma Team
-Performs or assists with emergency intubations, bedside tracheostomy, and nasal airway placement
-Proficient in the use of all Respiratory equipment, including but not limited to Hamilton G5 Ventilator, V60 BiPAP/CPAP machine, Airvo HFNC, Hamilton T1 transport Ventilator, and Babi Bottle bubble CPAP set up
-Cleans and sets up Respiratory equipment, checking to make sure all supplies needed are available
– Works independently in the SCN providing High Flow oxygen, bubble cpap, intubation assistance and mechanical ventilation
Requirements:
BLS certification
Registered Respiratory Therapy credential
MA License in Respiratory Therapy
Pay Range:
$39.59 – $58.83
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
