Job Description:
- Performs shipping, receiving, distribution, expediting, and the processing of related paperwork for supplies and equipment received. Insures all supplies are received in undamaged condition. Responsible for packaging and labeling of all items to be shipped.

Essential Functions
Roles and Responsibilities
-
Receives all incoming items, checking for correct product description and order quantity. Verify purchase order, packing slip and item count to assure proper receipt.

Inspects all incoming supplies and equipment for damage. Make determination to accept or refuse item, notifying manager of all items refused.

Reconciles all packing slips to receiving document noting any overages or shortages, clearly identifying item and quantity variance.

Records all discrepancy using standard forms, clearly identifying purchases order number, item and discrepancy to insure accurate information is relayed to vendor and accounts payable.

Inventories and inspects all items for shipping. Packages items in appropriate boxes insuring protection of items for shipment.

Uses UPS on line shipping and tracking services for most shipping request. Maintains proper records such as return goods form, UPS receipt document, assuring accurate information for any audit of shipment.

Determines priorities for shipping such as overnight, second day or regular ground transportation based on type of item and needs of requesting department.

Delivers all non-stock orders directly to departments, obtaining signatures form appropriate personal, and supplying all departments with a copy of receiving document.

Maintains receiving dock, paying particular attention to the wooden pallets and disposing of them when needed. Keep area around generator vent clear and unobstructed.

Assists storeroom in annual year end inventory.

Answers the phone in courteous manner, identifying self and department. Communicates with all who interface with the hospital using good business manners. Provides general hospital information.

Communicates clearly and effectively when working with all hospital personal on the process of shipping and receiving

Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum Work Experience

Previous shipping and receiving experience preferred.
Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to push and pull pallets of supplies in excess of 300 pounds. Reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Walking pushing/pulling supply carts though out hospital campus.
Work Environment
-
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold or heat due to the location of the receiving area.

Pay Range:
$18.50 – $24.90
The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
