The Simulation Support Technician supports the delivery of professional medical education experiences and ensures the seamless operation of simulation sessions through technical, clinical, and administrative support. This role combines hands-on work with advanced simulation technologies, administrative coordination, and curriculum support to provide high-quality training experiences.Full-time 40 hours per week, day shift
Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including but not limited to:
Prepare and operate simulation resources, including high- and low-fidelity manikins, partial task trainers, audio-visual systems, and virtual reality tools, to replicate realistic clinical scenarios.
Program and operate high-fidelity manikins during sessions, making scenario adjustments in real-time based on participant actions.
Assist faculty in customizing scenarios, developing educational programs, and delivering training on clinical decompensation, procedural skills, and teamwork.
Set up and break down simulation environments, including obtaining and organizing necessary props, equipment, and supplies.
Troubleshoot and maintain simulation equipment, coordinating repairs and updates with senior staff as needed.
Maintain troubleshooting documentation and simulator checklists to ensure operational readiness.
Schedule and coordinate simulation sessions using the learning management system (LMS).
Compile, process, and analyze data related to simulation course evaluations and utilization reports.
Manage small departmental projects, including timelines, documentation, and deliverables.
Maintain inventory and stock of simulation supplies.
Train as a proctor or instructor for FLS, FES, BLS, and ACLS courses as needed.
Support participants' learning by ensuring the effective use of simulation tools and fostering an environment conducive to educational success.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's Degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelors degree preferred.
Licensure, Certification, Registration:
Licensed healthcare professional preferred (e.g., paramedic or emergency medical technician);
Experience:
Minimum of 3-5 years in a clinical healthcare profession; experience with simulation in healthcare education preferred but not required.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Knowledge of clinical disease states, medical terminology, and simulation technologies.
Competence in TCP/IP networking, audio-visual technology, Microsoft Office, and computer hardware.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to summarize complex information.
Customer service-oriented, with the ability to train and engage faculty and learners effectively.
Ability to make informed decisions, solve complex problems, and work independently to meet goals.
